PRESENTATION

Cultural Association born in 1981, has been recognized as Non Governmental Organization of International Cooperation by Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1986, according to the Law 49/87:

  • Information and Education to Development in Italy;
  • Selection/Training of voluntary and cooperating personnel and operators;
  • Realization and Management of International Cooperation projects;
  • Citizens Training in Developing Countries (in loco).

PRO.DO.C.S. is member to FOCSIV, to the Italian NGOs Association and is member of UN Department of Public Information.

WHY

To promote:

  • new forms of presence in the society that support solidarity dynamics;
  • a way of life and culture aimed to research and practice of best instruments to support social changes for a democratic cohabitation;
  • projects supporting participation, respecting differences and pluralism, dialog and exchange between cultures;
  • a way to be near to the lasts, everywhere there is social relegation, or where a person has to recognize or exercise his rights and duties; in western democracies too, and everywhere economic well-being precedes quality of life;
  • the correct action to affirm human rights at a juridical-institutional level and to support social auto-promotion through the exercise of them;
  • elaboration and management of local and international projects to support North-South dialog and cohabitation between different cultures;
  • a specific developing work with indigenous people, in their local reality;
  • a particular attention to a gender perspective in developing process, underlining the central role own by women in the society.

TO WHAT

  • To elaborate International Cooperation Programs and projects of Education to Development supporting a new dialog North - South/South - East/West in Italy and in Europe, promoting Human Rights and a gender perspective. Projects have been realized in Latin America: Colombia, Bolivia, Peru and Chile; in East Europe: Albania, Moldova and Kosovo; in Africa: Angola.
  • To manage two Documentation Centers, ALDEA and DO.SVI (Women and Development), involved since 2002 in a Hinge Data Transmission of specialist documentation between Documentation Centers located in several regions of Europe and Latin America.

WHICH METHOD

  • Acquiring abilities in the analysis of events and problems allowing interpretation of evolutionary and directional tendencies of modern society;
  • culturally, transforming a culture inside aspiring it to solidarity values;
  • socially, establishing human and “humanizing” relationships in own life and working context, and allowing that public bodies work in a very democratic way.

WITH WHOM

In association with other associative and local realities, PRO.DO.C.S. participates in National and International Campaigns, Nets and Coordinations to sensitise to solidarity and social justice.

Diritti di Cittadinanze

Il libro prende atto dei mutamenti sistemici in corso nella realtà odierna e dei fenomeni sociali che trasformano di continuo le relazioni umane, incidendo sulle visioni antropologiche e ideologiche di società sempre più multietniche e multiculturali.
La scelta del tema evidenzia bene come siano molteplici le definizioni con cui si è andato connotando il termine di cittadinanza nell’evoluzione storica del dibattito giuridico-politico. Definizioni diverse tra loro a seconda dei principi e criteri con cui è riconosciuta ed attribuita ai cittadini da parte di uno stato. Significati diversi di cittadinanza messi in relazione con le strutture dei contesti societari, alla luce dei cambiamenti sociopolitici ed economici che essi vanno subendo e che incidono sulle stesse definizioni di società in una dinamica di reciprocità significante. 
La pubblicazione è rivolta in modo particolare ai Formatori.
Sono loro infatti a ad affrontare i temi della cittadinanza, dell’eguaglianza, della convivenza multietnica, nell’educazione formale e non formale.
